(SportsNetwork. Brandin Cooks Rams Jersey .com) - The Winnipeg Jets and Colorado Avalanche were heading in different directions when they met last Friday and things have changed nearly a week later. The Jets try to extend their seven-game point streak and deal the Avs a fifth straight loss on Thursday night when the clubs clash at Pepsi Center. Winnipeg has gone 5-0-2 since its last regulation loss on Nov. 23 to the St. Louis Blues. The Jets picked up a win over the Avalanche during this point streak, knocking off Colorado 6-2 at home on Dec. 5. Bryan Little paced the Jets third straight win over the Avalanche with a hat trick and an assist. Blake Wheeler added three helpers and Andrew Ladd finished with a goal and two assists. The Jets lost in overtime to the Anaheim Ducks two days after beating the Avalanche, but got back in the win column on Tuesday with a 5-2 decision over the Dallas Stars. Adam Lowry, a 21-year-old rookie, scored twice in the win, his third and fourth goals in 28 career games. It was great. Hes been close all year, said Wheeler of Lowry. I think when hes playing physical and hes playing fast he creates a lot of havoc out their for himself and his line. Hes a big body with great instincts on the ice. Its great to see him get rewarded for all the good things hes done for our team this year. Wheeler and Michael Frolik added a goal and an assist each, with Frolik lighting the lamp short-handed. Dustin Byfuglien had two assists, giving him four goals and three assists over a five-game point streak. Netminder Michael Hutchinson came up with 26 saves to improve to 6-1-2 with a 1.67 goals against average and .941 save percentage in 10 games (8 starts) this season. His solid play could see him start to take time away in net from Ondrej Pavelec, and Hutchinson made 20 saves in last weeks win over the Avalanche. Pavelec, though, is a solid 4-1-1 in his career versus Colorado with a 1.78 goals against average and .936 save percentage. The slumping Avalanche had a few days to collect themselves after the loss to the Jets, but it didnt help as they were shut out 3-0 by the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. Calvin Pickard made 33 saves on 34 shots faced as the Preds tallied twice into an empty net. Pickard yielded his lone goal 2:23 into the game when he was beaten by Filip Forsberg on a breakaway. I played against him last year in the minors, said Pickard. I know what he can do. That was a tough one to stop. Colorado fell to 0-3-1 over a four-game slide that matches a season high. Pickard was recalled from the minors on Monday when it was learned Semyon Varlamov is expected to miss at least two weeks with a nagging groin injury. Pickard is expected to start again tonight over Reto Berra and is 3-5-0 this season with a 2.29 GAA and .929 save percentage in eight games with five starts. Jets forward Evander Kane will serve the second contest of his two-game suspension for a boarding penalty in the loss to the Ducks. Aqib Talib Jersey . The Wild, playing their first game since leading scorer Mikko Koivu broke his ankle Saturday at Washington, have won three straight for the first time since Nov. 1-5. Koivu underwent surgery on Monday and is expected to miss at least four weeks. John Franklin-Myers Jersey . -- Zach Johnson is like most players at the World Challenge, not sure whether hes still playing in 2013 or if hes in the middle of the new wraparound season that officially started in October. http://www.ramsrookiestore.com/Rams-Ramik-Wilson-Jersey/ . Peter Dawson took his long before he started the job. "I was playing an American one year at Oxford Golf Club, and he introduced me to this travelling mulligan," Dawson said.Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Fordham running back Chase Edmonds calls the universitys head athletic trainer Vinny Porricelli Mr. Vinny. Whenever Porricelli tells Edmonds to call him Vinny, Edmonds responds, Im just a freshman. I havent earned the right to call you Vinny. As the fourth recipient of the Jerry Rice Award which honors the national freshman of the year in the FCS, its been hard to tell Edmonds is a first-year player. He jumped to the front of the freshman class from the first week of the season. In fact, Edmonds ran away with the Rice Award, receiving 95 of the 160 first- place votes and 625 points in balloting by a national panel of sports information and media relations directors, broadcasters, writers and other dignitaries. He was presented the award, named for the legendary wide receiver who played on the FCS level at Mississippi Valley State, at The Sports Network FCS Awards Banquet Monday night. The Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, product didnt even start the first game of Fordhams Patriot League championship season, but he rushed for 181 yards and two touchdowns and finished with 300 all-purpose yards in the win. He became the starter after the opener and went on to rush for at least 100 yards nine times and finish the regular season with 1,539 yards and 21 touchdowns on 252 carries, ranking eighth nationally in both rushing yards per game (128.3) and all-purpose yards per game (165.5). Im not going to lie, it was kind of surprising to me because I didnt really know what to expect, Edmonds said. I feel like Ive been put in the perfect situation because of the experience of the line, Edmonds added. We have (Garrick) Mayweather, a real good junior. Matt Stolte, hes a senior. Joe Mizera and then (freshman Anthony) Coyle and we have Mason Halter. Despite having a veteran squad that was coming off a school-record 12 wins last season, Fordham had big shoes to fill in replacing two-time first-team all- league running back Carlton Koonce. Coach Joe Moorhead says from the moment the 5-foot-9, 185-pound Edmonds stepped on campus, he had a mind-set to go 100 percent at everything, from the playing field to the weight room to the classroom. He was the only freshman to be named a finalist for the Walter Payton Award, which honors the outstanding player in the FCS. Its a blessing to be in the position that I am right now. The team is doing real well with the success. Its all about the team right now; thats the most important thing, Edmonds said. Brian Allen Jersey. South Dakota State wide receiver Jake Wieneke finished second in the balloting and Sam Houston State defensive end P.J. Hall was third among 25 finalists.
